Installing OleaDesk on Windows
One installer, about a minute, and the desk lives on your own computer along with your mail.
OleaDesk is a Windows desktop application. You need Windows 10 or 11, 64 bit. The installer is about 4.16 MB and the current version is 0.1.46.
What Windows will say
When you run the installer, Windows shows the publisher as Clearpath Goods, LLC. That is us. It is the legal entity behind OleaDesk and the name on the signature that proves the file you downloaded is the file we shipped.
On a very new release Windows SmartScreen may still show a caution before it will run. If it does, choose More info, then Run anyway. That warning is Windows being careful with a young publisher record rather than anything about the file, and it goes away as the release is downloaded more.
After it installs

Everything the app stores, your mail included, lives in a database on your own machine. Uninstalling the app does not remove it, so reinstalling later picks up where you left off.
How updates reach you
OleaDesk checks for a new version when it starts. When one is ready it downloads quietly in the background and then tells you, with a Restart and update button. It takes a few seconds and nothing you are working on is lost. Nothing installs itself behind your back, and you can leave the notice until you are ready.
If the installer will not run
The usual cause is antivirus software quarantining downloads by default. Restore the file and run it again, or download it fresh. If your browser removed it before you saw it, check the browser’s downloads list for a blocked item.
If it still will not install, write to hello@oleadesk.com with the message you see on screen. A person answers, usually the founder, within one business day.
